LiveNet

The main objective of LiveNet is to establish and build capacity of a network of advisory services across the EU, increasing the knowledge sharing between advisors, and among the whole AKIS, and the adoption of innovative solutions for Sustainable Livestock Production by farmers.

The EU Farm to Fork strategy...

…part of the European Green Deal, promotes sustainable, fair, and healthy food systems. Sustainable Livestock Production is crucial for the EU’s green transition while supporting farmers’ livelihoods. The LiveNet project aims to build a strong EU-wide network of livestock advisory services to enhance knowledge sharing and adoption of innovative, sustainable practices. It will:

  1. Create an EU network of livestock advisors using a twinning approach across all EU Member States, the UK, and Switzerland.
  2. Identify and replicate Innovative Advisory Practices (IAPs) that are viable across different contexts.
  3. Scale solutions through training, demonstrations, and outreach to advisors, students, and stakeholders.
  4. Connect with related projects and policymakers to better integrate livestock advisory systems into national and EU-level AKIS (Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation Systems).

The project involves 20 organizations representing a wide range of stakeholders in sustainable livestock and advisory services.
