The Highclere Consulting team joined an inspiring gathering in Paris, France, for the Kick-off Meeting of the LiveNet project, held from March 11–13, 2025. The meeting marks the beginning of a journey toward a stronger, more connected, and sustainable livestock advisory ecosystem across Europe.

What is LiveNet?

LiveNet is an ambitious, Europe-wide initiative aiming to build a robust network of livestock advisors. With 20 project partners, including 11 national network leaders, and 18 associated network leaders, the project is set to become a cornerstone of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and innovation in sustainable livestock production.

Highclere Consulting’s Role

Represented by Lisa van Dijk, Mark Redman, and Cătălina Rogozan, the Highclere Consulting (HCC) team plays an important role in shaping the project’s direction. Our contributions focus on:

• Mapping the current advisory system for sustainable livestock production in the 11 national networks and 18 associated networks. 
• Strengthening ties within the broader EU Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation Systems (AKIS).
• Promoting integration and expansion of existing livestock advisory networks.

Leading the Way at the Kick-off Meeting

At the KoM, HCC took the lead in several key sessions, including:

• Leading a collaborative session on defining sustainable livestock production, highlighting four core areas:
  • Social & economic resilience
  • Efficient & environmentally friendly production
  • One Health & animal welfare
  • Generation renewal
• Presenting the proposed methodology for the first task of the project: advisory system mapping. 

These discussions set the stage for a shared understanding and strategic direction for the project going forward.

Looking Ahead

The energy and enthusiasm at the Kick-off Meeting reaffirmed our belief that collaboration is key to building a resilient and future-ready livestock sector. We’re excited to start this journey, working closely with partners across Europe to empower advisors and foster innovation in sustainable agriculture.
