The LIAISON project aims to understand better what makes a successful partnership for innovation. Why do some partnerships have the ability to organise themselves, to capture new ideas, to nurture them and create something new? How do these partnerships test these new ideas and turn them into something with real practical application? How do they fully and effectively spread the news about their success?
In January 2019,
the Horizon 2020 project ‘LIAISON’ launched a Europe-wide contest with the aim of seeking-out innovative, inspiring and ground-breaking initiatives from within farming, forestry and the agri-food supply chain.
Contest results
A total of 220 businesses, projects and initiatives entered the contest from 21 EU Member States and from 2 neighbouring countries. An international jury of independent professional experts have now selected 15 of them as European Rural Innovation Ambassadors that represent the large variety of innovative groups in different sectors and geographical areas.
Each of the selected Ambassadors will receive personalized promotional materials and international recognition, as well as the possibility to benefit from numerous networking opportunities.
All of the Ambassadors will be honored at the European Rural Innovation Contest Award Ceremony taking place on 3 December 2019 in Brussels during the annual Organic Innovation Days event organised jointly by IFOAM EU and TP Organics.

Rural Innovation Ambassador for Romania
is Nod Verde project developed by Civitas Foundation.
Nod Verde (i.e. Green Knot) is about local small farmers (working and growing vegetables around Cluj-Napoca, the main urban pole of North-West Romania) which are connected in new and innovative ways with urban consumers from the city. They designed from scratch a system that provides the option to order and have delivered food products form local farmers and artisans. Nod Verde is also a supplier for local bistros and restaurants which are focusing on using fresh locally produced vegetables.
